Tuning utility5/27/2023 ![]() Undervolting both CPU & GPU to -110mV results in crash during 3DMark Ice Storm Physics test, and I wasn't able to pass this test until backing off to -90mV for both CPU & GPU -With -90mV for both CPU & GPU, there is still quite significant power throttling during 3DMark Image -3DMark testing results with no undervolting, -90mV CPU & GPU undervolting, compared to SB i5 no dGPU / i7 with dGPU ( ) and SP4 i5 ( ) results from Anandtech: ![]() Intel XTU bug on i5-4300u (surface pro 4) XTU has a nasty bug missreading a hidden value somewhere causing my SP4 to throttle (0,4G) after a crash. I don't do much gaming so will have to leave gaming performance test to those who game. (when loading defaults) Checked the values thru cmd and seem the same. After some digging it seems to be on ' Turbo Boost Short Power Max Enable '. Here we will take the Basic Tuning option for example. TL DR: No thermal throttling seen in SP4 i7 yet, but power throttling is definitely there. Launch the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility software and select Basic Tuning from the left action bar. To test your system performance, click on the Run Benchmark button. ![]() Intel XTU is a Windows-based performance-tuning software that enables novice and experienced enthusiasts to overclock, monitor, and stress a system. Undervolting improves 3DMark results, but still a bit away from SB i7 with dGPU. The software interface exposes a set of robust capabilities common in most enthusiast platforms along with new features available on new Intel application processors and Intel.
